Baldor Announces New Inverter Duty Gearmotors

Baldor Electric Company, Fort Smith, Arkansas based manufacturer of energy saving industrial electric motors, drives and generators, announces new inverter duty gearmotors ready for immediate delivery from stock. These new inverter duty gearmotors are specifically designed for use with adjustable speed controls. The new gearmotor line is rated at 3/8 HP, 230 volts, 60 Hz, three phase. An operating range of 10-90 Hz features a broad range of ratios in both right angle and parallel shaft configurations. Right angle units feature an internal oil expansion bladder and Mobil® synthetic SHC 634 oil. Both styles are lubricated for life and require no maintenance.

Features of the new inverter duty gearmotors include:

Inverter Spike Resistant (ISR) magnet wire for increased protection against voltage spikes and corona damage
Induction hardened ground steel worm and bronze gear on all right angle styles provides smoother operation, cooler running, increased efficiency and longer life
Induction hardened all steel helical gears on parallel units give increased load capacity, cooler temperatures, increased efficiency and longer life
Totally enclosed fan cooled, IP-44 protection, higher output and increased protection against environmental conditions
The new inverter duty gearmotors are UL recognized, CSA certified and CE compliant
Available gear ratios range from 5:1 to 75:1 for right angle and 5:1 to 30:1 for standard parallel shaft. The new inverter duty gearmotor torques range from 38 in-lbs. to 350 in-lbs., depending on gearmotor style and shaft speed.
Applications for Baldor’s new inverter duty gearmotors include conveyors, machine tools, material handling, and packaging.
